ACCTION

We intervene in the development of the Action risk management platform for cities, helping its founders to improve the application from a technical and commercial point of view. The application gives cities the possibility to manage events and map the risks of economic and climatological vulnerability.

History

The Acction application uses Google Maps services to generate risk maps and points of interest for cities that do not have early warning and emergency management systems. From an urban planning point of view, the application provides small cities and towns with a system in which to centralize risk events associated with their jurisdiction.

Acction had operating problems with severe bugs that prevented the application from operating organically, as well as lacking adequate backups and databases. Our intervention consisted of assuming the role of technical officers to adapt the technical equipment that the founders used, both in human and material resources. We relieved bugs, created improvement roadmaps, proposed functionalities and implemented the databases in Google Cloud that guarantee the operation and sufficient backup. We also configure the APIs of the application to adapt and document them with the Google Maps services.

From a product perspective, we have improved overall UX and removed recurrent or unnecessary UI components, while also facilitating user management for admins. Our interventions has guaranteed the application´s the stability and future scalability it requires to be expanded towards new cities.
